I would like to start my review by commenting on the other review. I viewed the TV at Costco and it is, in fact, NOT the same TV. It has the same specs, but is not in fact the same model number. The TV at Costco had a much more dull, inaccurate color to it as well. I think this is the difference between this tv and the UW40TC1W.

On the TV itself: The TV's picture is really good for the money. I am using a Dish Satellite with a Joey Hopper and it looks great. I use it in my bedroom and lie about 8-10 feet away (head to screen). I hooked up my BR Drive and the picture was clear and crisp (not vivid or exciting like a Samsung, but still very good). (Make sure your input is set to 1080p--I was watching 480p until I realized there was a difference in my Dish Joey settings).

Update: 2012-12-09: We got the TV back. Rather we got A TV back. It isn't the model we had, it is the 'replacement' model, newer, and it is not compatible with the laptop we use for it. However. It is back, apparently they read the review ;-> I must say that the picture on the replacement is very crisp. No dead pixels out of the box, but we will see how long it lasts. I WILL update the review if we have further problems.

My original review stands. Four months is too long to wait for service on a warranted consumer product. If they weren't going to fix the original it should have, at the very least, been replaced within the month. Ludicrous. Perhaps they noticed the flurry of one star reviews...

Update: It is November 7, 2012: Our TV has been at the 'repair shop' (warehouse? Garbage dump?) now since the first of August 6, 2012. That makes it 3 months.

Well, we bought this t.v. in early April and by the end of May, it stopped working. It was wonderful when it worked, but died within 2 months. I bought this TV with gaming in mind. You see, I got the LG 3D 47LW6500 from Amazon in Nov 2011. Don't get me wrong, it's a great TV for watching TV and movies (3D Blu Ray!), but it suffers from horrendous input lag. Note that response time is not the same as input lag. Response time refers to the amount of time it takes for a pixel (usually LCD) to change colors (usually from black to white). Input lag is the amount of time from when an input command (pressing a button on your controller) is entered to when it actually takes place or is displayed on the screen, and is a result of a collection of different factors in regards to the image being processed for "clarity". You can still have high response time while suffering from input lag. Sure the pixel can change colors quickly, but what's actually taking place on screen is delayed in time. Much like how live TV is on a delay to give time to edit out bad words in case someone curses.
